Samuel Benin is the Acting Director for Africa in the Development Strategies and Governance Unit. He conducts research on national strategies and public investment for accelerating food systems transformation in Africa and provides analytical support to the African Union’s CAADP Biennial Review.

An agricultural development practitioner with more than 20 years’ experience managing projects whose scope includes seed systems development, farmer seed enterprise development, value chain development, technology transfer, and nutrition sensitive agriculture. Sakile holds a BSc in Agriculture (Crops Science), an MBA, a master’s in applied microbiology and biotechnology and is currently studying for a multi-disciplinary PhD in Genetics, microbiology & food technology.
