Tight borders threatening food security – 2018 Global Food Policy Report (My Joy)

June 12, 2018

Ghana’s My Joy published a report discussing the relationship between migration and food security, a topic of the 2018 Global Food Policy Report. The report explained that seasonal migration between countries and regions can improve food security. IFPRI Director General Shenggen Fan was interviewed, saying, “Ghana could trade [with] its neighbours, Nigeria, Cote D’Ivoire and many countries to share what they don’t have with what they have. By doing that, the food security in Ghana, in Nigeria will be able to improve.”
