Dhaka Tribune published an article on the recent conference where researchers, policymakers, towards improving nutrition, and it is high time to discuss how to turn the tide on malnutrition as t and policy implementers stated that the pandemic has slowed down the region’s steady progress in the region appears to be returning to some form of normalcy. Senior Research Fellow Purnima Menon said, “In 2021, we live in a context where a virus reminded us of our shared humanity and of the futility of political and geographic boundaries. The region faces many forms of malnutrition, stunting, wasting, burden of anemia, overweight and obesity and NCDs. This conference is a platform to bring learnings and experiences together along one thread, COVID-19 and nutrition to enable collective action. Together, I believe we can learn and improve many lives still hanging in the balance.” Division Director of the South Asia Region, Shahidur Rashid said, “The South Asia region was the epicenter of nutrition challenges in the world. It is our moral and professional obligation to improve nutrition in the region. From a scientific perspective, we have robust evidence on what we need to do to change the landscape.”
