Transportation to Conference Venue
Transport to the conference center will be provided each day by bus from the Maritim Hotel, the Gunnewig Bristol and Gunnewig Residence Hotels, and the Gustav Stresemann Institute. Transport will be provided back to the hotels at the conclusion of the conference each day. Buses will begin departing from the hotels for the conference center at 07:30 on September 4.
Please note that transportation will not be provided for participants staying at hotels other than the four listed above. Kindly arrange your own transport and plan to arrive at the conference center no later than 08:30 a.m. on September 4.
The conference will be conducted in English.
Reconfirmation of Air Tickets
A travel agent will be available at the conference center from 11:00 to 15:00 p.m. on September 4-6 for reconfirmation of air tickets. There is no charge to participants for this service.
A cold lunch will be provided free of charge to all participants each day of the conference. Throughout the day, drinks and small snacks will be available for sale in the conference center's restaurant.
Conference participants are cordially invited to a reception hosted by the Mayor of the City of Bonn at the Old City Hall of Bonn at 19:00 on September 3. Transportation by bus will be provided from the Maritim Hotel and Gustav Stresemann Institute. The Old City Hall is within walking distance of the Gunnewig Bristol and Residence Hotels. The departure time for the buses and walking directions to the Old City Hall will be provided upon arrival in Bonn.
September 3 and September 4
A cruise and buffet dinner jointly hosted by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the German Foundation for International Development (DSE) will be held from 18:00 to 21:30 on September 4. The cruise boat will depart from a dock located at the rear of the conference center. Conference staff will direct you to the boat at the conclusion of the last conference session.
Passports and Visas
All visitors must have passports valid for at least three months beyond the length of stay. Visa requirements vary depending on the nationality of the visitor. Please check with your nearest German consulate or embassy for information on visa requirements.
If you have a stopover in another European city enroute to Germany, please check as to whether a special transit visa is required.

Arrivals and Transport to Hotels
From Cologne/Bonn Airport
From the Cologne/Bonn Airport, please take a taxi to your hotel in Bonn. Look for the signs directing you to the taxi stand just outside the airport terminal. The taxi fare from the airport to Bonn is approximately DM 80,00 (U.S. $40).
Public bus service is also available. Bus No. 670 runs from Cologne Airport to the Bonn Central station and takes approximately 35 minutes. Buses run every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday, and hourly on Sundays. The price is DM 8,00 one-way.
From Frankfurt Airport
The InterCity Express (ICE) train runs from Frankfurt Airport to Bonn's main train station in the city center. Please check your air ticket to see if the train ticket is included as part of your itinerary. If not, you will need to purchase a train ticket at the station. The trip takes approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes. Trains run every hour between 06:57 and 22:05.
Once you arrive in Frankfurt, proceed to the baggage area and pass through Customs. Then follow the signs to "Fernbahnhof," which is the station for long-distance trains. Although the station is in the airport, it is approximately a 10-minute walk. Trains to Bonn normally leave from platform 6 or 7, with final destinations in the North such as Hamburg, Berlin, and Leipzig. Please check with the staff at the information desk in the Frankfurt station. If you are staying at the Maritim Hotel or the Gustav Stresemann Institute, you will need to take a taxi from the Bonn train station to your hotel. The Gunnewig Bristol and Residence Hotels are within walking distance of the train station.
