Children and youngsters were called upon to deliver their message on how to achieve a world in 2020 that is better than what present scenarios tell us will happen. Selected contributions will be presented to the world conference. Some entries were awarded prizes and, along with others, collected in a booklet entitled "A Better World for 2020: Wake-up Calls from the Next Generation".
The younger groups of the next generation presented their vision in a picture, the older groups in written form.
Both these groups were asked to investigate and consider the food situation and the future outlook. They looked at ways to improve the prospects for eliminating hunger, and selected one or more key issues in their understanding of how things stand and how they can be changed for the better. Entrants were asked to consider "What should be changed in my community/in my country, and what can I do together with friends and neighbors to improve food security for people here and elsewhere?".
